Awake The Lake committee conducts an informal straw poll to determine if the residents of Palmer Lake want to fill the lake. More than 80% agree.
Awake The Lake committee proposes to buy water from the Town of Palmer Lake and do a “one time fill” using the town’s D-2 well water. The estimated costs are $25,000 which includes a dechlorination station, pipes, a discharge permit and a backflow preventer.
Awake The Lake committee inserts flyers in each Palmer Lake water bill asking for a $25.00 donation from each of Palmer Lake’s 1,000 residents to fund the “one time fill.”
