The first Awake The Lake (ATL) meeting is held. The Mission Statement is as follows:

Mission Statement:
A. Immediate, emergency filling of the lake to a minimum level to prevent freeze-kill of existing flora and fauna.
B. A permanent solution for augmenting the lake to its historic levels.

Purpose: To bring together members of the community whose common concern is to save Palmer Lake by bringing its water back to historic levels prior to 2002.

Sub-committees are formed:

A. Industrial
B. Recreational
C. Public Relations
D. Government
E. Fund-Raising

A letter writing campaign is encouraged to “people in high places.”
